Among the notable endorsements was Kourtney Kardashian, who narrated her struggles with mercury and lead toxicity and her doctor-founded detox approach via the keto diet.

The Science Behind Heavy Metal Toxicity

Heavy metal toxicity doesn’t discriminate — we are all potential victims, exposed through air, water, food, and even personal care products. According to studies published in the National Library of Medicine, while trace amounts of metals are necessary for certain bodily functions, excessive exposure can lead to dire health consequences. Toxic metals like lead, mercury, and arsenic can accumulate in body tissues, bind to cells, and disrupt organ functions, particularly impacting the brain and liver. Symptoms can range from fatigue and brain fog to weakened immunity.

As I delved deeper into the subject, I became increasingly curious: Was there merit to the detox claims, or was it just another pipe dream within the wellness industry?
